Anglicare Gowrie Village, Gordon
Gowrie Village and the central heritage feature building ‘Burnham Thorpe’ and extensive gardens is located on a 2.6 Ha site, remarkably surviving intact for 40 years as an aged care facility. The heritage building is to have extensions removed and reinstated to near its original condition. This is to serve as the central facilities building for the overall project comprising construction of a new 109 bed Residential Care Facility and 40 new Retirement Living Units across multiple buildings. The entire facility has been vacated and construction of all areas is being completed by Taylor Constructions. The landscape setting is extensive, with many mature trees and gardens retained and incorporated into an expansive new garden setting. A large portion of the site has a Blue Gum High Forest and associated regeneration area.
